Workshop on making drone at KUET

With a view to spreading the knowledge of advanced technology and encouraging the youngsters to involve in technological advancement, ‘Workshop on Making Drone’ was held on December 30 and 31, 2016 at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). This was arranged by Bangladesh Science Society (BSS).
The main trainer of the workshop was Head of Advance Drone Project under R& D Department of BSS Nahid Ferdous. Rasel Rana and Md Shajedul Hasan of the same project also delivered their presentations on robotics.
There were seminars on advanced and futuristic drone technology and promising applications of drones, multiple workshop sessions on drone making and knowledge session to familiarise the participants with different components to make a drone, question and answer and quiz session. A total of 160 participants from different universities joined the workshop which was divided into two batches on 30 and 31 December, 2016. Workshop participants received certificates and the top three participants from each batch were rewarded. In the first batch, Shamudra Dey from Shahjalal University of Engineering and Technology (SUST) became champion while first and second runners-up positions were grabbed by Azmol Ahmed Fuad and Samantha Khan Era, both from KUET.
Naeem Mohammad Sami, Sumit Chanda and and Nabil Md Shahid were champion, first runners-up and second runners-up respectively from the second batch and all of them are from KUET. President and Founder of Bangladesh Science Society Suman Saha was present at the ending ceremony. He delivered his speech and handed over the gifts to the winners.
Bangladesh Science Society is a non-profitable organisation. This organisation has been working since 2015 with the dream of a self-reliant Bangladesh. Till today, the organisation has been working on evolving a developed and technically skillful generation that will implement its knowledge and creativity to flourish the technological advancement of Bangladesh. To avail this, it has been organising workshops and competitions on science, book distribution programmes, career based discussions throughout the country and other activities to link bridges between school-going learners and university students.
