Workshop on money laundering held

CHITTAGONG, Apr 05: Money-laundering and terrorism-free society is needed for the future generation of the country. Corruption, trafficking of currency and terrorism are to be uprooted from the society and the bankers have to shoulder the responsibility in this noble drive.
M Mahfuzur Rahman, general manager of Bangladesh Bank (BB) anti-money laundering department said this in a day long workshop for officials of the commercial banks held at BB Chittagong office Sunday.
BB deputy governor Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui was chief guest while BB Executive director M Abul Kashem and BB Chittagong general manager Noushed Ali Chowdhury were the special guests.
Ziaul Hasan in his address described such a conference on money laundering as a proper and time befitting step. He advised the officials to take different preventive measures and remain alert in the banking transaction.
