Workshop on preventing corruption held in Faridpur

A day-long workshop-cum-views-exchange meeting to resist and root out corruption from the society was held at local Sarada Sundary Girls’ High School premises in Faridpur on Thursday. Organised by ‘Satata Sangha’, the workshop was chaired by president of the district corruption resistance committee Shamsuddin Ahmed while Divisional Director of Anti-Corruption Commission, Dhaka office, Major Emranul Haque Shah was the chief guest. Among others, district education officer Md Qamruzzaman, deputy director of Faridpur district anti-corruption commission Md Maniruzzaman, assistant directors of the commission Ehsanul Kamran Tanvir and Iftekharuzzaman were present in the workshop. Some school students both boys and girls also addressed the workshop. The speakers said that society cannot be made corruption free by law only. There must be a strong sentiment against corruption and that should be nourished from juvenile age, they added, according to a news agency.
