World Bank VP praises reform programmes of BB

World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region Philip Le Houerou Wednesday praised Bangladesh Bank’s reform drive, including automation, financial literacy and inclusion, strengthening digitised supervision and reigning on inflation.
Philip Le Houerou made the remarks when he met Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman at the central bank, according to a news agency.
The senior World Bank regional official expressed satisfaction over the achievements of Bangladesh and reiterated World Bank’s commitment to continue its support for the development of the country. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interests.
World Bank Country Director Johannes Jutt and Financial Sector Specialist Shah Nur Quayyum were present.
