World Blood Donor Day observed in city

Bangladesh Thalas-saemia Hospital through a programme in the city observed the World Blood Donor Day on Wednesday, by acknowledging the contributions of all blood donors.
Dr M A Matin, president of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Association and the hospital, chaired the programme while Syed Didar Bakht, adviser of the association and a former state minister, Dr Syed Alauddin, vice president of the association, Dr Ekram, its chief executive officer, and Chief Medical Officer Dr Kabirul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion, says a press release.
Speakers at the event urged all, especially students, to create mass awareness about blood donation.
They said a maximum of the blood donated is used for thalassaemia-affected people.
