World Cancer Day
Tuesday, 3 February 2015
World Cancer Day is observed on February 04 every year - and our country is no exception. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and it is a battle the human being is yet to win. The common people of our country are not conscious of this disease and we need to create awareness among them, as awareness is a key to safety from being affected by this deadly disease. Tobacco is one of the main causes that spread cancer and we shall have to cut down its consumption and save our population from this innocuous but deadly habit. Most of the cancer deaths in the world occur among low and middle income countries. The death from cancer is increasing worldwide and sadly though, it is predicted to continue.
I hope, this year we shall not observe the World Cancer Day as a mere ritual. We shall rather take concrete steps to fight the disease. We shall do our best to ensure a healthy life for our people. We must not be engaged in activities that help spread cancer.
