One-third of child cancer can be cured totally in our country if the disease is detected and treated at an early stage, said National Professor Dr MR Khan while addressing a seminar as the chief guest, a press release said.
The seminar was organised by Dhaka Ahsania Mission Hospital (AMCH) in observance of World Cancer Survivors' Day at the AMCH auditorium Sunday.
The national professor stressed raising mass awareness in this regard.
He also urged for shunning addiction to tobacco and tobacco-related products.
Dhaka AMCH President Kazi Rafiqul Alam in his presidential address said 70 per cent cancer can be cured if detected and cured earlier. This is why, it is essential to build a social movement for creating mass awareness.
