World Child Right Day, Child Right Week being observed

World Child Right Day today. The World Child Right Day is being observed across the country as elsewhere in the world through various programmes. The World Child Right Week-2014 also began today. President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in separate messages, congratulated the children of Bangladesh and the world on the eve of the World Child Right Day and World Child Right Week-2014. The President, in his message, said that children were the future of the world. He said if the children are nurtured properly the world and civilisation will prosper. The Prime Minister, in her message appealed to parents, teachers, NGOs and society to come forward for the betterment of the children. She said that her government had taken extensive programmes to improve the lot of the children, according to a news agency.
