World Cup countdown

Sunday, 28 December 2014

Year 2015 is only a couple of days away and like everybody else, I am also waiting eagerly to welcome the new year. World Cup Cricket 2015 starts during the first quarter of the new year in Australia and New Zealand. Enthusiasm around world cup cricket has been increasing with every passing year. This time fourteen teams will participate in the world cup and these fourteen teams will be divided in two groups. Top four teams of each group will play in quarter-finals. Tigers are in a group with Sri Lanka, England, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland and Afghanistan. Playing quarter-final is likely to be target the Tigers have set for themselves. The Tigers should not find crossing the first stage difficult, although cricket is known to be a game of glorious uncertainty. I know, reaching quarter-finals is a formidable task, but I am sure, the Tigers will do their best. The world cup starts on February 14 and ends on March 29 and this one-and-a-half-month-long extravaganza will surely steal the limelight in the media, print, electronic and social.
