World Cup fever and lacklustre Bangladesh-India series

Monday, 16 June 2014

The World Cup football has stolen the show as India-Bangladesh three one-day international matches are not receiving due attention from the sport lovers of our country. We cannot blame the fans as after watching three/ four matches of  the  World Cup daily they hardly have any energy to spare. The World Cup football frenzy has caught up with Bangladesh and the rest of the world and it is unlikely it will go away before 13th July when the final will be played. Since many of Indian stars are being rested, the ODI series of Bangladesh-India itself has lost its charm.
Usually we see a big rush during the Tiger's international cricket encounter but this time is exceptional. Media reports suggest there is no rush for ticket collection. Now people are so busy with Brazil, Argentina that they don't have the appetite to go to the stadium and watch cricket matches. I also try to complete my day's work as fast as possible so that I can take a little rest during the daytime and save some energy to watch the World Cup matches. Despite being deprived of regular sleep no one is complaining rather everyone is waiting eagerly to watch the next big match. Surely the World Cup football has changed our mundane daily life and has brought the much needed magic and excitement in it.
