World diabetes day & Bangladesh

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

The World Diabetes Day is observed every year on 14th November to create awareness about the disease among common people. It is good to know that people of our country are becoming increasingly conscious of diabetes and getting encouraged to lead a healthy life. Around 8 million people of our country are suffering from diabetes and if it goes unchecked the number of patients will reach 16 millions by 2030. Lack of regular physical activities, proper diet and awareness are the main causes of the increasing spread of diabetes in our country. More efforts are needed to arrest the spread of this disease and help our citizens lead a normal healthy life.
If we want to reduce the risks of diabetes we must lead an active life. Regular exercises cut down the chances of diabetes dramatically. We have to encourage our children to play outdoor games and discourage them to sit in front of the computer or watch TV for a long time. It is high time we created awareness about diabetes and encouraged people to do what is needed to remain safe from the disease.
