World Disabled Day observed in dists

Our Correspondent Habiganj, dec 3: International Disable Day 2011, was observed in Habiganj Saturday. District Social Service Department arranged the programme assisted by district administration. A rally was brought out from circuit house and it paraded to the main roads of the town. Government officials, NGO men, member of different institutions and disable persons took part in the rally. A discussion meeting was held at deputy commissioner's conference room after the rally. ADM Dilip Kumar Bonik presided over the function and deputy commissioner Mahmud Hasan was present as the chief guest. Our Correspondent from Joypurhat adds: International Disabled Day was observed on the slogan of "Sobai Mile Gorbo Uttam Prithibi, Songe Thakbe Protibondhirao" with various programmes as colourful procession, discussion meeting organised by district administration and NGO's Saturday in Joypurhat. A colourful procession was brought out in the main roads of the city with banners, placards and festoons. After the procession a discussion meeting was held at Sahid Dr. Abul Kashem Moidan. Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Biswas spoke on the function as the chief guest where Mozammel Haque police super of Joypurhat was present as a special guest. Our Correspondent from Gopalganj adds: The International Disable Day 2011, was celebrated in a befitting manner in Gopalganj today, organised by District administration, directorate of social welfare and voluntary organisations. On the occasion, Directorate of Social welfare & District administration, Gopalganj jointly brought out a colourful rally with disabled persons which paraded the main roads of the town. After the rally a discussion meeting was held at Zila Shishu Academy Hall Room in Gopalganj town.
