World Standards Day today -

BSTI chalks out several events

The 52nd World Standards Day will be observed in the country as elsewhere across the world today (Thursday), says a press release.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) as a national standards body has organised several programmes.
Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will telecast special programmes today. Different important places of the capital city are being decorated with banners, festoons and placards.
BSTI has organised discussion meetings at its head office, regional and district offices.
A discussion meeting will be held at BSTI head office in Tejgaon industrial area in the city at 11:00 am today. Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will attend the programme as the chief guest.
State Minister for industries ministry Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana and President of The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Jashim Uddin will be present as special guests of the event.
Director General (Grade-1) of BSTI Dr Md Nazrul Anwar will preside over the discussion meeting.
The theme of this year's World Standards Day is 'Shared vision for a better world - Standards for SDGs'.
