Wounded drug trader dies at DMCH

NARSINGDI, May 17 (UNB): A drug trader, who was seriously injured in an attack allegedly by his rivals following a dispute over drug peddling issues at Hajipur in the district town Friday afternoon, died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Miah (30), son of late Mostafa Miah, a resident of Boapur village in Sadar Upazila.
He along with his wife used to live in a rented house in the Hajipur area of the town.
Locals said Shamim had an altercation with his business partners in front of his house in the Hajipur area at about 4:00pm over some drug sale-related issues.
At one stage, they attacked Shamim and chopped him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
