Wreaths placed at graves of slain army officers

Opposition leader Khaleda Zia Monday placed wreaths at the graves of the army officers and an army officer's wife killed during mutiny at the BDR Headquarters on February 25-26, reports UNB.
Khaleda also took part in a doa mahfil at the city's Banani military graveyard seeking divine blessing for the departed souls.
The BNP chairperson, flanked by opposition chief whip Zainul Abdin Faruque and Barkatullah Bulu, MP, laid the wreaths at 43 graves of the army officers and wife of slain BDR director general Maj Gen Shakil Ahmed.
BNP leaders Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, RA Gani, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Sarwari Rahman, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Mirza Abbas, Selima Rahman, Amanullah Aman and leaders of the party's front organisations were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Bank Asia Monday placed floral wreath as a tribute to the departed souls of the tragic incident that took place inside BDR Headquarters on 25th and 26th February 2009, said a press release.
Employees of the bank, including senior executives, brought out a silent mourning procession from its Dhanmondi branch, reached the Pilkhana gate and placed the garland there.
They also prayed for the salvation of the departed souls and strength for the bereaved family members.
