Writ over Sundarbans, next hearing Jan 5

A public interest litigation (PIL) writ petition was filed with the High Court (HC) on Monday seeking its direction to protect the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world. After a preliminary admissibility hearing on the writ petition filed by Syeda Shahin Ara Laily, a lawyer, an HC division bench comprising Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice M Ashraful Kamal adjourned the hearing for January 5, 2015, according to a news agency.
