WTO DG, Unctad chief due by mid-year

Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Roberto Azevêdo and Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) Mukhisa Kituyi will visit Bangladesh by the middle of the current year. They conveyed their interest to visit Bangladesh during their separate meetings with Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed held in Geneva, said an official of the commerce ministry on Sunday. The Commerce Minister attended the second Geneva dialogue, titled ‘From Bali to the Post 2015 Development Agenda: LDCs perspective’, in Geneva on last Friday. The WTO DG and the Unctad Secretary General expressed satisfaction over Bangladesh’s progress in the areas of trade and economy, according to a news agency.
