WUB celebrates 7th Founding Day

The seventh founding day celebration of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) was held on the premises of Kalabagan Sporting Club in the city Saturday morning with a grand colourful rally, says a press release.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid MP in his speech as chief guest expressed satisfaction over the quality of the education and result of the University.
Special guest State Minister for Science and ICT Yeafesh Osman termed time-befitting and standard the programmes being run by WUB.
He wished the University to take leadership in the field of turning Bangladesh into a Digital Bangladesh.
WUB Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury said the educational system of the university will help the nation to get rid of unemployment.
He added that the graduates achieving their degrees in the last convocation from the University have all got employed.
He also mentioned that the University is providing various scholarships such as Shaokat Osman Scholarship to poor and meritorious students.
In her welcome speech, WUB Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury placed various activities of the university. WUB runs programmes in a way so that its students can compete in the competitive market.
The university will soon start educational activities on its own campus, she added saying only if it was given a little support from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
UGC Chairman Prof Nazrul Islam said that the private universities should build their own campuses on their own land in an area specially meant for institutions.
