WUB holds freshers' reception

World University of Bangladesh Tuesday held a reception to welcome about 1850 students of the Summer Semester 2010 at the LGED auditorium with the VC of the university Prof Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury presiding.
In his address as the chief guest Minister for Land Mr. Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju MP urged the students to be imbibed with the spirit of War of Liberation and to love the land as patriots. He asked the students to devote themselves to studies and to utilise the opportunities offered by the WUB for achieving economic emancipation of the country.
The minister also pledged to extend his cooperation for providing the WUB with a permanent plot of land for its own campus so that the varsity can be a part of construction of a Digital Bangladesh.
As special guests Vice-Chancellors of BSMMU Prof Dr Pran Gopal Dutta and of Bhasani University Prof Dr M Nurul Islam asked the students to acquire as much knowledge as possible with all qualities of head and heart and also to become good human beings.
They also asked the new students to pick up and practice the values that our people to dearly hold to their hearts to become complete men.
The programme ended with a cultural soiree presented by varsity students and hired artists.
