X-mas Day observed in dists

NILPHAMARI, Dec 25: The holy X-mas Day was observed in Nilphamari Thursday by the Christian community with due solemnity. This day is the birthday of Jesus Christ.
Danish Bangladesh Leprosy Mission (DBML), The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh, Community Program, Rural Health Program and some other organisations jointly observed the day.
The aforesaid organisations are mainly run by the Christian religious community in the district. Different day-long programmes were undertaken to observe the day. The programmes included special prayer, decoration of houses, meditation, cake cutting, song, discussion and cultural function.
The discussion programme was participated by Dr. Biliyam Sangma, Surendra Nath Singha, Reba Dibakar, Sibe Menderestoma, Mesi Haldar, Omber Chimma, Prodip Mandal, Smriti Somardr, Kolpona Roy and others.

BSS reports from Rajshahi: Christmas Day, the largest religious festival of the Christians community, has been celebrated here and its adjacent area with much enthusiasm and festive mood today.
A large number of Christians rushed to the nearby churches to offer prayers.
Marking the day, a special prayer was organized at city church at 8.30 in the morning.
Earlier on Wednesday night, midnight prayer was arranged at Baganpara Church from 9 pm to 11 pm.
