Xerox Corporation, a US $17 billion (2007), Fortune 500 Company Thursday announced plans to further strengthen its presence in Bangladesh by expanding its offering to include Xerox Global Services (XGS) to help organisations improve productivity and reduce costs in the document management space.
Xerox is the world's leading document management technology and services enterprise while XGS is the consulting arm of Xerox that offers device and document management services focusing specially on key verticals and large enterprises. XGS solutions include three offerings: Business Process Services, DOCS (Document Outsourcing and Communication Services) and Xerox Office Services.
Sharing details of newly launched Business Process Service Line, South Asia chief, Xerox Corporation, Andrew Horne said, "Documents consume approximately 50 per cent of IT budgets (IDC) and account for 5% of revenues of any organisation (Source: Gartner). This clearly shows a huge opportunity for document management outsourcing. With a proven track record of 70 large enterprises and 15,000 service professionals globally, we believe XGS will prove to be a great success in Bangladesh."
Sharing details of its partnership with International Office Equipment (IOE), Horne added, "We have been working with IOE for the last four years and enjoy a great relationship with them. With IOE's strong distribution network and our enhanced portfolio of service offerings, we will be uniquely positioned to offer corporates in Bangladesh an end-to-end portfolio of products and solutions. Added Horne, "Bangladesh is an important market for us and we remain committed to growing this market by offering an enhanced market coverage, competitive product portfolio and excellent after sales service."
Aftab ul Islam, Chairman and CEO, International Office Equipment, said "We enjoy a strong and fruitful relationship with Xerox. With the introduction of XGS, we will be able to further diversify our client portfolio and multiply the growth opportunities available to us. With an internationally acclaimed brand such as Xerox, we believe that this is a win-win opportunity to offer new levels of customer service for customers and corporates in Bangladesh."
Xerox Corporation will also be ramping up its sales and marketing initiatives and expanding the service and product portfolio in Bangladesh. The company currently has a robust portfolio of 100 products in this market and plans to introduce the latest and most advanced technologies in 2007.
