Yaba trader killed in Ctg \\\'gun battle\\\'

A suspected Yaba trader was killed in a 'gun battle' with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel in Gohira in Chittagong city's Patenga area early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Zafar Ahmed, a resident of the area. Commanding Officer of Rab-7 Lieutenant Colonel Mifta Uddin Ahmed said a RAB patrol team challenged a gang of suspected criminals, including Zafar, while they were staying in the area late at night. Sensing the presence of RAB, the gangsters opened fire on the elite force, prompting retaliation, triggering a 'gun battle'. During the 'shootout', Zafar received bullet injuries while his other associates managed to flee. Zafar was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. The elite force recovered 10,000 Yaba tablet and two pistols from the scene, according to a news agency.
