Yeafesh for applying tech to build digital B'desh

State Minister for Science and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Architect Yeafesh Osman stressed the need for applying technology to build a poverty-free digital Bangladesh, reports BSS.
The government is working sincerely to reach technological facilities to the doorsteps of the common people, he told a seminar titled 'Digital Bangladesh: Goal and Achievement' at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city Tuesday.
President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service Providers' Association Mahbub Zaman and People Perspective Expert of Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Naimuzzaman Mukta, among others, addressed the seminar with president of Bangladesh Computer Samity Mostafa Jabbar in the chair.
Senior Consultant of A2I Programme of PMO Munir Hasan presented the keynote paper.
As part of building digital Bangladesh, Yeafesh said, the government is implementing many programmes to bring the people under information technology (IT).
He said Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina believes that the access of the grassroots people to information technology could change their fate.
For this, the PM is giving top priority to bringing the grassroots people under information technology for building a poverty-free digital Bangladesh, he added.
Referring to significant achievements of the Bangali nation, Yeafesh said united efforts like during the War of Liberation are needed to build a digital Bangladesh by 2021.
