Young graduates out on mission to offer poison-free vegetables

Saturday, 20 December 2014

When consumers are tired of having adulterated foodstuff alongside price manipulation, some educated youths have come up with an idea to supply poison-free fresh vegetables, ensuring fair prices for both the farmers and consumers, reports UNB.
In an effort to establish an alternative market system, the youths, led by Delowar Jahan, opened a market in the city's Lalmatia area in which they sell fresh, safe vegetables and fruits every Friday.
"We've a goal and that's very much related to establishing a system ensuring fair prices for farmers and consumers," Delowar said.
"Of course, we have been out there with a mission to promote poison-free vegetables, but we also have the passion to be independent, and carry forward the family tradition of some of us,"  he said.
