Young man killed as train hits him near level crossing

An unidentified young man was killed as an out-bound intercity train hit him near Banani level crossing in the capital Saturday morning, police have said. According to the police, the ill-fated man, aged about 25, was hit by the train when he was crossing the railway track, which left him seriously injured. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with head injuries, where on-duty doctors declared him dead, said Inspector Mozammel Haque, camp in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
