Young man stabbed dead in city, teenage girl dies

A juvenile boy was stabbed dead in Dhaka on Tuesday while a teen-aged girl, rescued unconscious from near a Keraniganj school, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Monday. One of the deceased was identified as Md Shahadat Hossain, 18, son of Hafizul Islam of Raniganj upazila in Naogaon district. Identity of the teen-aged girl could not be known. Sources at Darus Salam Police Station said the recovered the body of Shahadat Hossain from Gabtoli Balurmath on Tuesday. Inspector (Investigation) of the police station Faruk-ul-Alam said Shahadat came to Dhaka from Naogaon district recently and he had been living at a rented house at Baghbari Uttarapara with his father Hafiz. Being informed, a team Darus Salam police station went to Gabtoli Balurmath at about 1pm and recovered the body, Faruk-ul-Alam said. Marks of multiple stab injuries were found on different parts of the victim’s body, he added.
An unidentified girl died at DMCH after being rescued from Tekerhati Wazuddin School area in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka district on Monday. The girl, aged approximately 15, was admitted to the DMCH and declared dead a little while later. One Shahnaj, 45, and her son-in-law, 25, who are residents of Keraniganj, brought the girl to the DMCH. They said they rescued the girl unconscious from beside a road in Tekerhati area. They further said that they know nothing more about the girl. DMCH police camp in-charge Mozammel Haque said that statements of the people, who rescued the girl, seemed irrelevant. ‘We have informed Kamrangichar police station to look after the matter,’ he said today, according to a news agency.
