Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim hit a century as Bangladesh Under-19 edged Afghanistan past by two wickets in a keenly contested fifth and final youth ODI to draw the five-match series at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium in Rajshahi on Sunday, reports BSS.
The hosts won the first game by five runs on DLS method before the second game was washed out.
Afghanistan beat Bangladesh Under-19 in third and fourth match by 102 and 47 runs respectively to keep them on the verge of a series defeat.
But Hakim produced a gritty performance in the last match to help Bangladesh keep the series 2-2 eventually.
Electing to bat first, Afghanistan managed to put up 208-8, thanks to a stubborn 68-run knock from opener Osman Sadat. Captain Mahboob Khan added 40 while Uzairullah Niazai made 32.
Hakim led from the front with 118 ball-100, clobbering seven fours and three sixes as Bangladesh reached 211-8 for a victory in 45.5 overs.
Wahidullah Zadran who claimed 4-25 kept Afghanistan hopes alive to win the game but Hakim's grit helped the hosts get over the line.
Hakim was the eighth batter out with Bangladesh needing just two runs for a victory. Rizan Hossain's 27 was next best for Bangladesh.
