Young Tigers concede 2nd consecutive defeat

Bangladesh A conceded 2nd successive defeat in the ATN Records Tri-Nation One-Day Tournament losing to West Indies A team by 29 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Saturday, reports UNB.
With the day's win, the Caribbean team is almost assured of a final berth in the three-nation meet after beating South Africa A team by 11 runs in their first appearance Thursday.
On other hand, the 2nd string Bangladesh side are almost out of the race with the day's debacle following their humiliating 203-run defeat against South Africa A team Wednesday.
Winning the toss in the day's match, West Indies team batted first to score 259 for 7 in 50 overs.
After the dismissal of two openers - Devon Smith (7) and Justin Guillen (11) - for 27 runs in 4.3 overs, captain Travis Dowlin pairing with number four Darren Bravo contributed 84 runs in the 3rd wicket stand.
Bravo scored the team highest 69 runs off 114 balls with seven fours while Dowlin made 64-ball 37 runs with three fours.
Number five Brendan Nash hammered 60 runs off 46 balls with three fours and three sixes while Imran Khan contributed not out 31 off 27 balls with two fours.
Shamsur Rahman, Nazmul Hossain, Nur Hossain and Talha Jubaer shared one wicket apiece.
In reply, Bangladesh A team were all out for 230 in 46.5 overs despite a superb 89-run innings by opener Nazimuddin.
Nazimuddin's 86-ball innings featured 13 boundaries.
Besides, Raquibul Hasan scored 46 runs off 60 balls with two fours, Marshall Ayub contributed 43 runs off 54 balls with two fours, skipper Shamsur Rahman added 23 runs off 33 balls with three fours and wicket keeper Dhimon Ghosh made 20 off 30 balls, also with two fours.
Nelson Pascal grabbed four wickets for 49 runs and Shane Shillingford picked up three wickets for 38 runs.
Imran Khan, who earlier scored not out 31 runs, later grabbed two wickets for 46 runs and was adjudged man of the match.
Bangladesh will play South Africa again today (Sunday) and meet West Indies on May 12 in the remaining league matches at the same venue.
