Young Tigers suffer defeat in rain-affected 1st warm-up match against Sri Lanka

The Bangladesh Under-19 team slumped to a 112-run defeat to Sri Lanka youngsters on (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) DLS method in their first practice game for the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Pretoria on Sunday, reports BSS.
In the game, hit by rain, Sri Lanka which elected to bat first, compiled 238-9 after the match was reduced to 49-over.
As the rain interrupted the game again, Bangladesh's revised target was set at 232 in 36.2 overs but they were able to put up 119-9 with no one could even hitting a half-century.
Jishan Alam was the top-scorer for the side with 26 while opener Adil Bin Siddique made 15. Ashiqur Rahman Shibli, who was the side's top-scorer in Asia Cup triumph scored 11.
Bangladesh, earlier, in Asia Cup beat Sri Lanka. However, the Islanders showed unwavering resolve in this game with opener Pulindu Perera making highest 50.
Leg-spinner Wasi Siddiquee claimed 2-26 for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will take on Australia in their second and final warm-up game on
Wednesday at the same venue.
