Youngone, country's leading multi-national company in the ready-made garment sector (RMG), has handed over 50 sewing machines to Friendship, a non-profit voluntary organisation.
The machines will be used for training the adolescents and women groups of 'char' and riverine areas of northern Bangladesh.
The Youngone contribution was made under its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), said a press release.
Runa Khan, executive director of Friendship, and officials from Youngone were present on the occasion.
Friendship has been working to improve the health status and socio-economic condition of the hard-core poor people of the 'char' and riverine areas of northern Bangladesh since its inception in 1998.
