Youth arrested with arms, ammo

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a young man in possession of a Japanese-made pistol and seven rounds of bullet in Salanga upazila in Sirajganj district on Saturday. The arrestee was identified as Billal Hossain, 28, son of Abul Hossain, a resident of Jattrabari area in Dhaka city. Rab-12 sources said on secret information, a Rab team intercepted a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Hanif Paribahan’ coming from Dinajpur at Hatikumrul intersection and arrested Billal Hossain at about 2:00 am. The elite force also recovered a Japanese-made pistol and seven rounds of bullet from his possession. Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal confirmed the arrest. A case was filed in this connection, according to UNB.
