Youth beaten for laptop theft dies at KMCH

KHULNA, Jan 28 (UNB): A young man, who suffered injuries in a lynch-mob attack for allegedly stealing a laptop at a residential hall in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on Sunday morning, died at a hospital on Sunday night.
Identified as Mahidul Islam, 22, son of late Muktar Hossain of Atra-Gilatala area, the young man died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
Officer-in-charge of Khanjahan Ali Police Station M Shahidul Haque said Mahidul while stealing a laptop from room no. 103 of Rashid Hall of KUET in the morning was caught by the students of the hall, who gave him a severe beating, leaving him injured.
