Youth dies falling from rooftop of train in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Oct 17 (BSS): Police recovered Friday a body of a youth from Dhirashram area in Gazipur.
It is suspected that the muggers might have pushed him down from the rooftop of a running train.
The victim was identified as Md Jiltu (26), a final year honours student of History Department of Sheikh Amanullah Degree College at Kalaroa in Jessore.
Police recovered the body of Jiltu with critical head injuries from near the railway track in Dhirashram area under Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) in the morning, assistant sub inspector (ASI) Zillur Rahman of Tongi railway police camp told the news agency.
They recovered an appointment letter of a private company Pran and certificates of board examinations from his possession, he said.
Jiltu along with his friend Jahangir Alam came to Dhaka on October 14 from Jessore to take part in a recruitment examination of Pran and both of them got appointments as sales representatives, he said.
They boarded on the rooftop of Chitra Express from Bimanbandar Railway Station at around 8.30 pm Thursday for going to their village home Jessore, he said adding that soon after the train reached Dhirashram, some criminals snatched away their mobile phone sets and moneybags.
As Jiltu tried to resist them, the criminals pushed him down from the roof of the running train, he said. Jiltu's friend informed Joydebpur railway police of the matter and they recovered his body.
A murder case was lodged in this regard.
