Assailants have hacked to death a young man in Chittagong’s Khulshi, police say. The victim has been identified as Mohammad Selim, 35, a resident of Ambagan area in Chittagong city. Doctors at the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) declared him dead on Sunday morning when he was rushed there. CMCH police outpost Nayek Abul Bashar said the victim’s body bore multiple slash wounds. “It seems he had been slashed at random,” he said. The victim’s younger brother, who identified himself as ‘Jony’, said they heard that his brother was left to die in an under-construction residential area in south Khulshi. Doctors declared Selim dead when he was taken to the CMCH, Jony said. He suspected prior animosity was behind the killing. But he could not specify with whom his brother might have had bad blood, according to bdnews24.com.
