Youth jailed for eve-teasing

GAZIPUR, Nov 11 (UNB): A mobile court here on Thursday sentenced a youth to six months imprisonment for sexually harassing a school girl.
The convict was identified as Abdul Karim Sheikh (18), son of Abdur Rahman Sheikh of Ratanpur village in Kaliakoir Upazila.
Rabiul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Kaliakoir thana said Karim was harassing a class VI girl student of a local school.
Karim waylaid the girl on her way to nearby Shafipur bazar in the upazila from her house in the morning and at one stage tried to kidnap her. Hearing her screams, local people rescued the girl and caught Karim red handed.
Later, he was produced before the mobile court and the court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmudul Karim Murad after examining the witnesses jailed him for six months.
