Youth killed allegedly by friend for money

One Jewel Sheikh, 25, was killed allegedly by his friend Shahin Bepary for greed of money in Bhanga upazilla of Faridpur district on Thursday night. Police said, Jewel Sheikh, 2nd son of Shaheb Ali Sheikh of Aikda village of Muksudpur upazilla of Gopalganj, had a small business in Hazaribag area in Dhaka. On Thursday noon while coming to his native home from Dhaka via Bhanga ‘Biswa road’ Jewel went to meet his friend Shahin Bepary in Raipara village in Chumurdi union in Bhanga Upazila where he decided to make night halt at friend's request. Police said Jewel had a cash of Tk three lakh with him, as reported to police by the deceased’s brothers Jony Sheikh and Sohel Sheikh. At dead of night, Shahin informed Jewel’s brothers that Jewel had become seriously sick and asked them to come to Shahin’s house immediately. On arrival at the house, police quoting the complainants, said Jony Sheikh and Sohel Sheikh found Jewel lying in a room of the house in senseless condition. He was immediately rushed to the upazilla health complex where the doctor declared him dead. Jewel’s brothers complained that Shahin killed their brother for the money. They also told Bhanga police that when they reached Shahin’s house there was none in the house, not even Shahin Bepary. Police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur hospital for autopsy, according to BSS.
