The sponsors of 'Youth Leadership Summit 2011' have stressed the need for building up effective leadership among the youths to transform Bangladesh into a developed country. They said this at a press conference in city Tuesday on the eve of the first three-day summit, to be organised by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC) on March 03-05. BYLC president Ejaj Ahmed, youth leadership programmes director Ivdad Ahmed Khan Mojlish and World Bank governance specialist Charles Underlond, among others, were present at the press conference. Ejaj Ahmed said there is a lack of proper leadership in the country. "Though money plays an important role in development, without proper management skill and leadership, it is hard to score success," said Mr Ahmed. BYLC, country's first leadership institute, will be holding the youth leadership summit at Spectra Convention Centre and the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city. Around 200 former and present trainees of BYLC's youth leadership programme, delegates from different universities across the country as well as nationally and internationally renowned speakers will participate in the programme.
