Youth shot dead by BSF at Benapole

A Bangladeshi youth was gunned down by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Benapole union in Sarsa upazila of Jessore on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Parvez Alam, 21, a cattle trader and son of Sujon Master of Agravulot village under the Upazila. Subedar Shamsur Rahman, in-charge of Goga camp under Battalion 23 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), said Parvez was severely injured as BSF men of India’s Jhaudanga camp opened fire at him when he, along with a few other cattle traders, was returning with cows from India through Agravulot border around 5:00am. Fellow cattle traders rescued Parvez and were taking him to his house at Agravulot village. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to his home, according to UNB.
