Youth shot dead in capital

A youth has been shot dead in Dhaka’s Mohakhali. The murder took place at the wireless crossing at around 8:30pm. Dulal Sardar used to supply Korail slum with power through generators. DMCH Police Outpost inspector Mozammel Hq said Dulal had been shot in the back of his head. Introducing himself as a friend of the deceased, ‘Jamal’, a youth, told reporters he along with Dulal, ‘Tipu’ and ‘Sohel’ had snacks at a restaurant in the wireless gate at around 8pm. Then they headed for Beltola. The youth said he suddenly heard the sound of a gunshot, looked back and found his friend lying on the ground. The three friends then brought Dulal to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at 8:45pm. Jamal, however, said he did not know who were behind the killing. Dulal’s wife rushed to the hospital on hearing of the murder. She also could not say anything about the murderers. The deceased hails from Lauriparha Upazila in Munshiganj, according to bdnews24.com.
