Youth shot dead in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Apr 13 (BSS): A youth was shot dead allegedly by a local smuggler at Meerganj village under Bagha upazila of the district last night. The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, 27, son of Golam Rasul of Raotha village under Charghat upazila. Local people handed the alleged killer Samad Mollah, 35, along with the pistol over to police after a mass beating. Police said Sadeque Ali, elder brother of Habibur Rahman, had a long standing enmity with Samad Mollah over a trifling matter. As sequel to the previous enmity Samad Mollah locked in an altercation with Sadeque Ali and his brother Habibur Rahman at around 8.30pm.
