Youth stabbed dead in Satkhira

Robbers stabbed a young man to death and injured three other people during a robbery at Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Saddam Hossain, 26, son of late Yusuf of Shitalpur village of the upazila. Locals said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Saddam’s father-in-law at Pirojpur village around 12:30am. As the inmates of the house attempted to resist the robbers, the bandits beat them indiscriminately and kept them hostages in a room at gunpoint. Then the robbers looted cash and valuables items from the house. As the robbers attempted to decamp with booties, the inmates of the house raised a hue and cry. Hearing scream of the house inmates, locals rushed to the spot. Sensing danger, the gangsters stabbed four members of the family, including Saddam indiscriminately, leaving them seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Narayanpur Hospital where Saddam succumbed to his injures at about 1:30am, accrding to a news agency.
