Youths plan for the year with new leaders

On January 12 2018, JCI Dhaka West held their Chain Handover Ceremony and General Members' Meeting (GMM) at Six Seasons Hotel. The President's Chain was handed over by the Immediate Past Local President Ziaul Haque to the 2018 President -Elect Mehedi Hossain. 2000 Past National President Senator Nessar Maksud Khan handed over the chain along with 2018 National President Fayaz Atiqul Islam and Executive Vice President Irfan Islam.
After the chain handover, the GMM started off by reciting the JCI Mission, Vision and Creed. The GMM was conducted by the Local President of JCI Dhaka West, Mehedi Hossain. At the GMM, the Executive Board for JCI Dhaka West 2018 presented their reports and plans for the year.
JCI Dhaka West has initiated 'The Buddy Programme' for their local members, where each Local Officer is assigned to 8-10 local members. These officers are responsible for their buddies' engagement, development and growth.
Furthermore, project reports were presented and the decision was made to continue their flagship event, Embrace The Difference (ETD), which works on creating a platform where special children can interact with children from other schools.
Last year, around 600 students from 46 schools participated in a painting competition. Embrace the Difference 2017 was also awarded the Best Project Award by JCI Bangladesh at JCI National Convention 2017.
JCI Dhaka West also signed an MOU with the Gallery following the GMM. The Gallery is an event management organisation responsible for photography and videography. The Gallery will work as JCI Dhaka West's photography and videography partner for 2018.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is worldwide leadership organisation for young professionals and entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 40. The organisation is present in 110 countries and has a membership of 200,000 across the world. JCI Dhaka West is a local chapter of JCI Bangladesh and actively works towards the development of young active citizens.
