Yusuf memorial lab inaugurated at DU

A laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the Dhaka University (DU) was named Saturday after its late professor Dr HKM Yusuf to recognise his immense contribution to research on human nutrition and brain development, reports UNB.
DU Vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique formally inaugurated Prof HKM Yusuf memorial laboratory at its department Saturday afternoon. The laboratory is used for practical works of the 3rd year honours students of the department.
Later, 1st Harun KM Yusuf memorial lecture was held at the department jointly organised by the Bangladesh Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Prof Dr Haseena Khan presented the memorial lecture on 'Prospects and Application of Genome Sequencing with special reference to Jute'.
Arefin Siddique was present at the function as the chief guest.
Prof HKM Yusuf died on November 12, 2009 and was buried at Azimpur graveyard.
