Zafrullah, Mahfuzullah relieved of contempt charges

The International Crimes Tribunal -1 on Thursday disposed of the contempt of court case relieving Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury of Ganashasthaya and journalist Mahfuzullah of the charges with some strictures. The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice M Enayetur Rahim, passed the order on the contempt case filed by the prosecution. The tribunal also prohibited the impugned episode of the talk-show, ‘Muktobaak’, aired by Channel 24, a private satellite TV network on September 18, 2013 over the transparency of the 1971 war crimes trial, referring to the case of now condemned convict BNP stalwart Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, according to a news agency.
