Friday, 17 July 2015

Newly-appointed State Minister for Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Tarana Halim sounded a note of warning against all sorts of corruption.
"We will show zero tolerance against corruption to make the ministry free from the curse as I never compromise with injustice," she said while exchanging views with the ministry officials and employees at the secretariat in the city on Thursday.
"I personally do not give bribe to anyone and take bribe from any person. So, please inform me if anyone tries to take illegal advantages cashing in my name and hand over the person to police station," she said.
Imposing a ban on entering the ministry with any gifts except flowers, she added, "No gift would be allowed to enter the ministry. Only the persons related to government can come to my house with flowers."
A ninety-day programme had been adopted on priority basis considering the needs and demands of the people, she said, adding that the next programme will be adopted after completion of the 90-day programme.
Secretary of the ministry M Fayezur Rahman Chowdhury conducted the views-exchange programme while additional secretary Shawkat Mostofa presented the programme in details.
