Zia beat Himal in 2nd round of GM Chess

GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Himal Lama of Nepal and bagged 1.5 points after 2nd round games in the LIC 2nd International Grandmasters Chess Tournament now being held in Kolkata, reports BSS.
Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain of Bangladesh Navy, FM Debaraj Chaterjee and FM Mohammed Malek earned one point each while WIM Rani Hamid CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess secured 0.5 points.
Shafiq Ahmed of Titas Club, M Jamal Uddin of Pritam-Prism of Narayanganj and Dewan Shahidul Amin of Sonali Bank Sports and Recreation Club failed to secure any points.
In the 2nd round games held Tuesday, Malek beat SC Bharathi of India, Rakib lost to Abhishek Kelkar of India, Razib lost to Sahoo Utkal Ranjan of India, Deberaj lost to GM Neelopal Das of India, Sohel lost to Vignesh of India, Rani Hamid lost to Pradeep Kumar of India, Shafiq lost to GM Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury of India, Jamal lost to Nandhidhaa of India and Tipu lost to WIM Leite Catarina of Portugal.
