Zia Fertiliser fails to meet output target

BRAHMANBARIA, Jul 3 (UNB): Ashuganj Zia Fertiliser Factory failed to reach the production target during the last fiscal due mainly to frequent operation suspension.
Official sources said operations in the 26 year-old fertiliser factory had been suspended 22 times during the period due to technical faults caused by incomplete overhauling works.
Last year, the output of 1,600-tonne production capacity factory was 0.369 million (3.69 lakh) tonnes of urea against the target of 0.38 million tonnes.
