Zia fertiliser fails to meet target

BRAHMANBARIA, July 25: Zia Fertiliser Factory (ZFF) at Ashuganj failed to reach the production target during the last financial year due mainly to frequent operation suspension.
Official sources said operations in the 26-year-old fertiliser factory had been suspended 24 times during the period due to technical faults caused by incomplete overhauling works.
Last year, the output of 1600-tonne production capacity factory was 0.39 million tonnes of urea against the target of 0.38 million tonnes.
