Zia leaves for Baku to take part in World Cup Chess

Grand Master (GM) Ziaur Rahman Zia left Dhaka for Baku in Azerbaijan to take part in the World Cup Chess-2015 which will begin Friday (September 11), reports BSS.
The event will be held in knock- out system. Zia (Rating-2500) will play two games against 12 seeded player of the event GM Evgeny Tomashevsky (Rating-2758).
He needs one win and one draw for qualifying in 2nd round.
A total of 128 leading chess players of the world are participating in the event. Zia qualified to participate in World Cup Chess as an Asian Zone 3.2 open champion.
