Ziauddin briefs US Congressman on war crimes trials

Bangladesh Ambassador in Washington M Ziauddin met Congressman Ed Whitfield and briefed him about the current status of trials in the International Crime Tribunals (ICTs). During the meeting with Whitfiled, also the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Power and a member of the Bangladesh Caucus, Ziauddin also discussed the current energy and power scenario and the prospects of renewable solar energy in Bangladesh. ‘Bringing the war criminals who had committed crimes against humanity under justice will heal the wounds of the war and end the culture of impunity in Bangladesh,’ said Ziauddin in the meeting held at the Capitol Hill, Washington DC. Congressman Whitfield appreciated the immense economic development in Bangladesh and welcomed Ambassador Ziauddin in his new assignment, according to a media release received in Dhaka on Friday.
